About The Flight Playbook

Hi! I'm Jackson, and I'm currently working my way through flight school. When I started, I had no idea what was going on, and there was no single place to find the answers. That's why I made this site. I want to help pilots at every level with the hard stuff, so the flying gets easier.

Editorial policy

• Primary sources first. Regulatory claims link to the eCFR, FAA handbooks, the AIM, ACS documents or official FAA pages, placed next to the claim.
• Review dates mean something. “Source-checked” shows the day the content was actually compared with those sources. Rebuilding or redesigning the site doesn't change it. 8 lessons are currently source-checked.
• Reviewers are named only if real. No certificated flight instructor has reviewed these lessons yet. When one does, their name and certificate type will appear on the lessons they reviewed.
• Corrections are public. Each lesson keeps a change history. Report an error.
• No FAA affiliation. We're not affiliated with or approved by the FAA.
• Prices are estimates. Calculators use the numbers you enter; we don't invent local prices.
• Affiliate links (when present) are disclosed and never affect content or school labels.
